Yesterday I was trying to figure out where to put the new Stebel horn (ion the rally car) and I inadvertendly opened the radiator to have a peek...

The liquid is horrid! So I need to flush the radiator and renew the stuff...

There are some people that recomend using pure water (the idea being that if you're stranded in the middle of the desert you can drink it)... this doesn't sound like a smart option, and I do plan on having abundant water with me without taking the radiator into account!

That said, I thought I'd get some opinions...

Also, if you do recomend antifreeze/coolant additive, which one would you recomend? Keeping in mind that I'm not too concerned about freezing, and more concerned about heat transfer (the car isn't the merc, it's the Shogun which is destined for the desert rally)

Definitely coolant/antifreeze if only to stop corrosion. I would probably go for the cheapest from a motor factor.
