Got to be someone on here from Kent in the building trade.
My mrs wants a porch built on the house, anyone able to come and give me a quote?
She knows exactly the style she wants:crazy:

I agreed to doing this along with a new stair carpet and having my lounge and dining room floor done with wooden flooring.
In return, she agreed that I can go and buy a Ferrari, so help me out and come and give me a quote.

Porche for her Ferrari for him. Very good. She did say Porch didn't she?

Hi Graeme,

Not a builder and it won't help for the porch, but what sort of wood floor were you looking for to go in your lounge/dining room?

I got a fantastic deal on T&G solid oak from a place not far from you (pretty sure they were in kent) - worked out around £20/m2.

If this is the sort of thing you were looking for let me know and I'll see if I can dig the details out.

Cheers Will, that would be great.
I would need someone to fit it though, or it would end up in small pieces and be thrown through the windows:devil:
If it was metal, I'd be ok, but me and wood don't get along too well;)
She doesn't want laminate, but solid wood. Size of room is 12' x 24'.

Better make sure you don't hit that new Ferrari parked outside the window .

LOL.
I am not allowed to get it until after the house bits have been done.
I need to get it done asap though, as I have already seen the car:crazy:

:D I'll see if I can find their details.

Not sure if they do fitting themselves, although they might know someone if you're local I guess?

Fitting can be quite expensive though, from what I've seen, probably as much as the floor itself or more!

Although I didn't buy the flooring from their website, maybe phone/visit them and arrange a better deal if you need it?

I did buy about 50m2 though.

We'll all come and help fit it G ........ if you let us play with the Ferrari afterwards ;)

Thanks mate.
I could fit it if the room was square, but would need someone to do the curves and the corners.
After all, you just bang it together with a 14lb sledge hammer don't you?

I have a contact for 2 very good & reliable "small builders" who built our Porch when we first came here 7 years ago. They have just completed our Earthquake Repairs to a very good standard. I know they specialise in Conservatories/Extensions etc.

Interested? Where abouts are you? They work out of the Folkestone/Elham area & have contacts with all sorts of other trades people. I recommend them 100%.

One of our Neighbours is in the process of having their T&G Oak wood floor(only laid 10months ago) renewed by a 1 man outfit. Fantastic workman. Again Earthquake repair.

I can pass on your details should you be interested etc

Ferrari looks nice!

I am in the process of having a wall built at the moment...at a rate of a brick a week, so I can tell you who not to use!!

Sorry Grav888, just spoke with the chap at hope. He has enough work to tidy them over into the New Year & was not over keen & going up to the Rochester area.

Sorry, but if you don't ask you don't find out!
