Well it's been a while. Sold my c class in 2009 and bought an x5.great car and miss it a bit. Sold that last year for a new rs4. Loved it but the Audi thing ain't for me and I live at petrol stations. Covered 14 k in this in the last 10 month and it's been good fun. Looking to free the cash from the car and so been thinking about pcp deals. Liking the e class or 5 series. Anyone seen any good deals about? Ideally cash from rs4 would be a chunk for house in Spain. Plus the running costs would probably pay for a second house in Spain!!!

Thanks in advance

Try carwow or drivethedeal. Dealers can match these deals. I recall around 18% discount on new.

Especially as the new shape is on the horizon....Not to sure when, believe next year so me personally i would wait.

You can see the effect the new model is already having - Orangewheels are offering £ 9k off £ 45k 350CDI Premium+. The lease companies will be following the reduction as Merc will be looking to ditch the stock before the launch 2nd Qtr next year. Next years model will be considerably different and will come with a very long list of (expensive) options (I have managed to put £ 9k of options on my C350e)

If your going to lease / PCP the residual value won't be of too much interest so as long as you get a good deal now which reflects the ' old' model why worry - as long as you don't mind being in an 'old model' for a couple of years.

Tiger, first off I'd rent one for a few days - the E class drive is very different chassis wise to what you have had recently. You might prefer the C class.

Discount wise I got 18% off a factory order. Broadspeed is Inchcape, use their prices and tell your dealer the deposits going down there and then. As poor as MB dealers are, I'd rather collect at one than a trailer turning up outside the house.

I contemplated the new* shape, which is at least a year away, then potentially another 6 months for your desired specification. Everyone forgets that new models always jump in price - I wouldn't be surprised if the new E class is another 10% dearer, but with less specification.

There was some silly £180 a month deals on the E220 SE on Car Leasing Deals & Contract Hire | Contract Hire And Leasing

Of course that is with 6-9 months down and plus vat.

£260 a month for the new 340i sport touring got my interest. Especially as some of the long term tests are seeing 35mpg from it. I loved my old 335i sport touring.

Nothing like that really from the new C Class yet, and C400 not even out still.

535d sport at £263 + vat.
