Any experience of running a high mileage BMW E61 ?

In the SL the seats can caress you against the G forces as you take the bends and on command give you a massage. They have multiple electric lumbar support as well as lateral adjustment, one of the finest seats I have sat in, nowt wrong with Mercedes seats in my opinion [emoji6]

But isn't your car the SL where many reviewers have said "Mercedes at last have got the seats right."?

I had a E90 58 reg 330d ran it for 6,000 miles up to 110k. Had a indi look it over after I had purchased it. Couldn't find one thing!

It was on 18" style 162 BMW alloys with RFT. That's the only negative I found, apart from that a fantastic car with great economy and performance to boot.

I only sold it as it was manual and I had forgotten how much of a pita town driving is!

For that money and a LCI car possibly with the later I drive I wouldn't let those miles with its history put me off.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do. I would rather buy from someone I knew or an acquaintance rather than a complete stranger.

Google any manuafactuter there are sorry stories on ever car guaranteed... even MB lol

Really had not read that, I also owned an E220 W124 1997 from new and a CLK320 2003, both had comfy seats, much better with more support than my 2007 Lexus GS450h.

The problem for me is the lack of tilt on the base. I like my knees to be lifted.

I was only comparing with the E Class, my old W203 sport was much better.

I asked the German specialist I use what are the most common faults on this age BMW and they said two things; turbo and DPF.

On the 4 pot also throw in timing chain problems.
The question is...which diesels have less or no trouble with the DPF's ?

Off topic a little but did you find the reduced boot space on the Lexus a problem?

Not at all, copious compared to my current ride but that is not saying a lot! I eventually sold it and bought an XF but nothing to do with the boot or the seats to be honest. It was 100% reliable, very quick and quiet but just a little too bland in a Japanese way so I got bored...
