Just go through the new member introductions threads. Any with more than 20 replies tends to be either a new member with a great car/project or, yep, you've guessed it, obviously a female.

Fact of forum life.

There did used to be a few very active female posters but less so now.

My brother's a developer (coding rather than bricks and mortar) and he was stuck on a particularly knotty problem so sought assistance on a forum he used from time time, nothing came back immediately.

He was in a hurry so he found picture of a nice looking girl, set up a new I.D with an obviously girly name and posted the same query in a new thread. His fellow nerds couldn't fall over themselves quickly enough to fix 'her' problem.

What do people think is going to happen? That she's going to reply "thanks so much for your dubious Internet-based advice knight on a white charger, come and take me now, I'm yours."

I think a member called something like Tenelena? with a lime green SLK would fall firmly into the category of 'more than the average number of welcome messages' if memory serves.
