Hi guys new to this site have a Vito 116 cdi automatic w639 and the mpg around town normal driving is shocking I get 21-22mpg average..on motorway bit better up the 30s..any1 else like this or sumat up with my Vito travelliner.

As above,
and if you drive it like a car it'll return far worse consumption than a car.

Cold and stop / start round town and I would expect consumption starting well below 20mpg rising to mid 20's.
M'way cruising at less than 60mph and I'll eventually see a max of 42mpg after 80 - 120 miles.
On paper yours will do a little better than mine, if driven gently.

Those figures don’t sound too far out of others, the Vito has never been known as the most frugal of vans...

Even worse then with all that extra weight!

I did a very steady 120 miles in a 1 year old Vito and I got about 35mpg - dreadful! The Vivaros we’ve got do 52mpg on the same trip!

That's not right. It should go to 90C and stay there....
Change the thermostat.

That's premature,
85 is a reasonable expectation, in summer.
Cruising w/o being under load it might drop a little below that.

A kernackered stat will struggle to rise above 60 in cooler weather.

I already replaced thermostat it sits between 80 and 90 on the gauge. Dunno these are very fragile

It's a 2+ tonne vehicle with a lot of frontal area ... not a good recipe for fuel economy. Speed makes a significant difference on the motorway ... it will be noticeably better at (say) 65 than 75.

Does it have a DPF, that'll shave a few miles off the economy, and some ower.
