Saw this on the M3 today and tried my paparazzi best to get some spy shots and to be honest failed quite miserably.

There were 2 being tested and i spotted them near the Guildford slip road.

I am quite sure its a Merc but its so heavily disguised its difficult to work out what model this is going to be. Any idea's?????

It looked like there was potential for a huge grill in the rear view mirror if that helps.

Funny that. I saw what I think is the same on the M3 last week. It was in zebra stripes last week.

Yep its the new C Class

The dash seemed to be dominated by quite a large screen in the centre as i had a good nose through the window on the way past.

I would say this is not far from production and they were fine tuning the suspension set up for our crappy roads.

That car was actually silver by the way. Anything black is a vinyl wrap. I suspect there is some quite dramatic creasing in the doors that is being hidden.

Yep, its a W205

Submit it to worldcarfans.com and it will get featured, also contact autocar/autoexpress who may print it.

The huge screen you would have seen will be a laptop logging data.

So early they havent even finalised the rear clusters.

It was definitely some kind of on board computer. There was a couple of geeks in the front and the one on the passenger side had a laptop in his lap and was recording data.

I did unsuccessfully attempt to get a photo of the interior but didn't fancy writing off a pre production car in the process so gave that up pretty quickly.

The thing was doing no more than 60mph as well and i had to slam the brakes on to avoid hurtling past it. I was already kicking myself for missing my opportunity with the previous car. i attempted to slow down to get a photo of that one but i think he was on to me and kept backing off.

My dodgy eyes thought it had been shot up?????!!!

So what we have here is masses of evidence that one of our members has put his life and that of others in danger by taking photographs and staring inside other cars whilst driving!!! We (and the police) now have his admission that he was paying far more attention to this W205 than he was to any other aspect of the motorway and the other vehicles on it. He has even shown us a photo clearly taken from the driver's seat whilst he was in the third lane of the motorway. He has admitted to having to slam on his brakes in an attempt to get a better photo, clearly with no consideration for other road users. Quite frankly I'm disgusted.

And the rest of you who have already commented aren't much better. You've praised his photograhs, thereby encouraging him and others like him to continue with this sort of behaviour. Behaviour that's getting far too common now. When will you all learn that it's essential to drive safely, in full control of your car and observing all that's happening around you. You can't do that whilst taking photographs.

I'll certainly be keeping a careful eye out for a particular car when on the M3 in the future. Not a W205 in disguise, but a CLK 270 that is possibly being driven by a potential murderer!
