Car
mercedes of course
i am sorry in advance.

i have noticed this was discussed before, i have just got my renewal and it is hiked by 50%
my portofolio
1972 350 slc (one of 10 in the country, one of 3 which are tax exempt) 10k
1976 450 sl 10k
1997 sl 500 10k
1993 e220 convertible 5k

premium quoted is £800

i am sure there is some other companies that will do it lower.

but i do need my agreed value most multi car normal policies are market value which is no good for me.

i plan to call all companies in the gazette tomorrow.

if u have the knowledge where to go to get a better deal, and perhaps u have such a policy and u have been paid out the greed value so i can follow your lead.

it would be good if mbclub can sort out with a broker a deal for this if they pay for hosting and stuff then we can use them

thanks in advance and sorry i could not search to find it

u have been paid out the greed value so i can follow your lead.

LOL, sorry, but that was unfortunate!

You could try Oak for a family fleet policy, but your renewal premium doesn't seem too bad at £200 per car.

I pay a fair bit more than that just for an M Class and a G Wagen. And I live in very low rated area. With the SL it all adds up to around 1500 squideroonies.

you should try multiple classic car insuramce it will be cheaper for you.

if people maybe able to direct me to brokers who do
multiple car classic insurance with agreed value(or not)

so i will get quotes tomorrow and report on prices i got.

i know many do it (multi car), but the problem not many doing agreed value, peter best who are the best do not do multi car i will confirm tomorrow

Have you tried Peter Best? About the best out there for classic mercs

i know i wish they do multi car policy i am not sure the do now or not i will call, i just wanted a shortlist who did so not many waisted call.

if not i will compile a list and put for all to know

I has a multicar with them about 4 years ago, Smart Brabus and 1986 w126 420 sel

It would be interesting to hear the result if you try Primo.

I currently have a multicar with Admiral, can't rmeber if it is agreed value though

well this the most important (agreed value) to me, specially when the cars are hard to find or one of handful

I'm with Peter Best this year -

£87 for the 500SEL with 5000 miles and valued at £3K

£138 for the E250D with 5000 miles and valued at £1500

Both parked on the drive , SDP+C , 1 SP30 on my licence ; SWMBO also insured to drive .

I have in recent years also insured the Ponton , the Fintail and the 280SE with them , premiums always sub £100

Peter Best. Their classic car policy is superb as pontoneer states. They give a discount for being a member of the Maercedes-Benz Club AND a 25% discount per car if you have more than one car insured with them. Great service too.

ok first quote is in
make year value mileage excess price paid
mercedes e220 convertible 1993 £7000 3,000 500 5000
mercedes sl 500 convert 1996 £7000 1,500 500 5000
mercedes 350 slc 1972 £5000 1,500 500 8000 (one of 3 avail in the UK restored and moted)
mercedes 450 sl convert 1976 £5000 1,000 500 5000

the excess the quote much less than what i was offered between 50-200 per car depending on the car with agreed value for a princely some of 452 which 1/2 of my current insurer so it pays to switch companies and tweek it a little, still awaiting others but i doubt if anybody else can beat this and btw these are no on multi policy but with discount as club member and low mileage

model| year|value| mileage| excess| price paid
e220 convertible| 1993| £7000| 3,000| 500| 5000
sl 500 convert| 1996| £7000| 1,500| 500| 5000
350 slc| 1972| £5000| 1,500| 500| 8000 (one of 3 avail in the UK restored and mot'd)
450 sl convert| 1976| £5000| 1,000| 500| 5000

Hiya

Subject to all information Adrian Flux should be able to offer cover for your vehicles. If you were thinking of obtaining a quote from Adrian Flux please feel free to pm me your contact details and I can get someone to call you.

Thanks

Dan

Towergate cherished car in Poole Dorset might be useful. Google for website details. I wouldn't get hung up on multicar polices especially for classics. Comp cover and agreed value are the main things you need and the policies tend to be pretty cheap depending on the vehicle, the miles you do and your own driving experience/record
