My friend's revamping a w123 inside-out, and will be laying out the cables from a w213 300d.
His goal is a nice/suitable HD screen/infotainment system. He gave me this as a reference: For 2007~2011 Mercedes Benz C280 C350 C63 - Car HD Screen DVD GPS Radio TV BT CDC SWC MFD HD Screen [PH-BZ8920] - US$515.00 : diycardvd.com
But it's not for his model combo; where could we look for more fitting options?
Some autonomous media/telephony/satnav bundles could be sourced almost everywhere I guess, but what about interconnecting with the car itself (CAN bus etc) if at all possible given his classic car.
One requirement he'd surely like the controls to be separable away from the screen, so he could fit them right behind the gear stick.
We're pretty new in the IVI systems, so please go easy on us
