glc 220d urban edition
getting a glc 220d urban edition in december.
was just wondering if any one had the 220d 170bhp 400nm engine remapped?
if so whats your thoughts.

Ive read plenty on this and it seems you get about 250 brake and 490 ish ft lb of torque and it will make a massive difference.

ive had a ring around and most are quoting 220bhp 500nm of torque which puts you somewhere near the 250d which sound about right as it has the same twin turbo engine and gear box.500nm is the same as the 250d and 220bhp is only 16bhp more so should be well inside the engine tolerances.

They are the same engine and gearbox but if I remember correctly I think the fuel pump is different in the 250d hence why they make more power if you map both cars

Usually between Merc 220 and 250 dervs is the injectors or fueling perameters .

The larger turbo on the 220 is smaller than the 250's ??

Someone's getting confused between ftlb and Nm , easily done .

The GLC is still the old 2.1 engine not the new 2.0 engine

220bhp is more realistic, 250bhp is not unless you change other stuff too. By the way I did remap the engine you mentioned, I noticed a small improvement in smoothness and a bit more pull in the top end, after a few months I was still dissatisfied so I bought my current 335D.

.
Only different 250/220 cdi is that 250 have bigger injectors.
Quite easily 220cdi => ~500nm/230hp

Personally, I have a coupe 335d too, in fact two. The other one is true M-sport, the other is racer.
M550d has three or now four turbo's.
I have had a quite nice results for them.
Sorry to say, but BMW is the leader now in diesel tech.

M550d, only remapped.
