I have a C270 cdi 2002 and only averaging 30-35mpg on 25 miles school run twice aday mainly on motorway and bit of A road, No traffic jam normally, it has a new thermostat, a new maf, the inlet and egr been clean recently, is there any specialist wanting to have a look within 80miles of Rotherham
I am sick of reading people getting over 40mpg average when i only get 35mpg if i drive like a angel

35 probably isnt far off for the driving you are doing, you will only get into the 40's on long motorway runs in my experience.

35mpg is about average for a C270 in my experience for "normal" driving. However, I can easily get into the early 40s on a run like you describe if I drive really carefully (includes being careful with speed...not exceeding 60mph!!). Also checking things like tyre pressure etc are maintained correctly. However, even a little bit of stoppage due to traffic can reduce overall consumption.
