First happened last Friday (yeah the 13th heh) a section of my rear demister has stopped working  I've one of those that combines the radio aerial too

There are two vertical stripes that effectively divide all the horizontal stripes into three. 1/3 (the driver's side) of one of the horizontal conductors has decided it won't demist anymore :(

One crap pic to illustrate...

I'm sure a stealer would probably want to replace the entire rear window. One to put on the list the next time I take the car to George me-thinks.

Are those repair solutions (bit like a bottle of tippex) that can be found in the likes of Halfords any good?

Any ideas?

is the glass not covered by your insurance glass policy if it just happens to accidentilly gets cracked or something?

if it is a conducter that has broken then you can make it good wh conductive paint as found in halfords, give that a go 1st...

RS sell conductive paint also apply with a toothpick!

Hlafords stuff is hard to apply with the brush supplied.

Toothpick idea is cool, but I can imagine equally as tricky.

Fully Comp?

£50 gets you a new window ;)

the top two lines of mine don't de-mist either, but as long as it's just the top two lines I'm not bothered...

Shude,

The top two on mine never did either, I assumed those were the radio arial strips as opposed to rear-demister strips, seemed too coincidental to me.

I think I'll have a look see in Halfords at this conductor solution repair stuff.

*edit* I'd rather keep the original window too if I can as I've heard there is a bit of an art to replacing the front and rear windows on W202's and if not done 100% properly the buggers let water in. I seem to recall reading a thread where someone had big problems after having a screen replaced (by one of the big window specialists too) and his car was never right again plus the company did the usual of saying there was nothing wrong with the job. I think it's something to do with not cutting away a particular strip or seal but most replacers do. Hehe anyways I'm rambling.
