I am. As for the people sleeping out so as not to lose their places next to the fence, words fail me. Same planet, different world.

I'm not fed up as I don't watch much of it. No-one has to to. But a wedding is a happy occasion.
As for camping out to get a good view well each to there own.

I watch very little TV but will watch the wedding. We do this sort of thing well in the UK.

Don't really watch TV and certainly not for news so blissfully unaware.

Not particularly bothered either way although if some people get over-excited then fair enough.

Although having said that I remember being dragged down to the Southbank by some visiting rellies when the queen was coming down the Thames on a boat a few years ago - the golden jubilee or something?

Me & the Mrs managed to leave our kids with said rellies and duck into the nearest pub. Where we met all manner of union jack waistcoat wearing wearing enthusiasts.

They were harmless I suppose but a bit odd/stalkerish.

    We legged it.

Apart from geraldrobins' post#2, which I identify with closely, what an amazing collection of witty, erudite and apposite comments.

Will be in the garden if the weather is good , the garage if its not .No tv , just music. In the evening I will be celebrating my eldests 40th Birthday , and no doubt picking up the tab! No issue with people being staunch Royalists , but it doesn`t work for me.

Something is wrong, is it not? We pay the Police and the Council to clear the streets of "rough sleepers" so as to present the watching world and the 'Happy Couple' a fairy tale landscape. But,,,,,, along come a load of folks (Joe public) who are willing and wanting, to sleep out in the "rough" to claim themselves unhindered viewing of the great event. The world has gone mad.

Good luck to them (and why not?) I wish them no harm or ill (The Royal Couple). But, the circus that follows these events is outdated and outmoded and reeks of hypocrisy. They become caricatures of themselves, when I suspect, they are not even trying to do so. The entire, will he, won't he, Markle Dad Debate, being played out for the expectant public in a twisted tale that has nothing to do with family values, love or morality but everything to do with greed and self serving.

What a world, where we drive a market for "staged" photographs of the Father of the Bride as he tries on his wedding suit. A suit that he now cannot wear as he has broken the understandable creed of of his future Son in Law by selling his soul to the Paparazzi. Oh wait.... No he is ill? He has had a heart attack, maybe several? Rendering him to ill to travel, to give his daughter's hand away on her wedding day, barely able to hold the weight of the cheque he has just banked for selling out his new family.

You have to jab yourself to test for reality...

I’m surprised I haven’t been bombarded by companies trying to sell me plates and mugs.
