Anybody tried this

Great Advert,i always take these wonderful guarantees with a pinch of salt.

i very much doubt thats whats been used on the koenigsegg! I would stick to the well known tried and tested brands. Zymol, Muguiars and Autoglym for me always gives a good result.

Sounds like the standard 'Star Shield' etc. products that MB are keen on offering when purchasing a car from the dealer.

Mind you PTFE is very slippery but has no abilities to create 'shine'.

The science in the advert is a little 'flowery' amazing what an impression few (lot) of big words can make..

Have a look through his feedback:
delivery very slow, packaging&bottle flimsy, wax performsOKbut hardly exceptional

As appealing as a fit and forget for 3 years may seem, I suspect that it is one of those 'If it seems too good to be true.....' moments, and you will end up switching back to the tried and tested.

But on the other hand - for a tenner, and an afternoon of 'detailing' - there may be an upside:rolleyes:

Have a look through his feedback:

I have dealt with ebay for nearly seven years buying and selling loads of items but don't get carried away with such a small amount of negative feedback considering the amount of stuff he sells I just take note of the very large amount of possitive feedback.

If you look on a lot of ebay auctions and look at the negative feedback you won't believe the stupid reasons for leaving it.

OK, but got both my cars treated with Supagard by MB, both inside and out when I bought the CLK last year. The claim is it reckons to protect your car for five years without having to polish it. OK I’ll take that with a pinch of salt, and besides I wouldn't dream of neglecting any of my cars for five years to find out if it's true, but proof in the pudding as the saying goes, and so far both cars looked exceptional after being treated, and still do. Obviously they do get dirty, but the key is, that they seem to take much less effort keep clean and looking good. They do also seem to maintain their smooth feel lustre after washing. :thumb:

Yes it was expensive to have done - £300 for the CLK and then £40 quid for my SLK! You also get a complete maintenance kit supplied as well, enough to do both cars for at least a couple more years.

Why the price difference between the cars? Being I'd just I'd just spent £33K on the 350CLK Cabriolet, and the salesman was very happy to have sold me a car £10K more than I’d planned to spend, probably helped when I asked to have the 32 done as well  MB Dealerships don't seem to want to provide this service to anything other than new or approved cars sold through them, on the day of closing the deal.

BTW I got my wheels treated with The wheel Specialist "Wheel Wax" Advanced Polymer technology, when I had them refurbed Christmas last year, this as mentioned in another thread seems to work well.

Anyway, more info below in link ;)

How good is Supagard? - is it worth it?

Isn't PTFE something plumbers use?

Which one .. there's quite a few there to choose from....

It all depends on the colour of your car i use Blue velvet hard wax for a black car, but before i apply it i go over the car using Dodo juice lime prime(this cleans and prepares the surface for the wax)

this link should help you choose what to go for depending on the colour of your car
Which Dodo Juice Carnauba Wax Do I Need

.......but you wont see the full effect of the wax unless your prep work is done correctly first
