Just wondering if anyone has found a way to deal with these rather than buying an entire unit? I have a man who can do this type of electronic repair but it sounds like it could be expensive, thoughts or suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Ask you friend to take a look he could probably fix it, once you break them down they are only LEDs soldered onto a PCB.

I spoke to him yesterday and he mentioned he had done some recently, Bentley, Maserati etc. He said that the light units from the cars mentioned were big money (quoted some alarming figures which of course I could not challenge as I don't know the prices myself) To be fair he did mention that it was not just your regular run of the mill LED's sometimes (colour changing ones etc). There was a figure of around £400 mentioned for the repair which I think will be more than the unit itself from Merc. I'd be surprised if the units from the other manufacturer's were that expensive (£1400-1800) but am willing to accept that they might be.
