Anyone Fancy a New Shooting Brake?

That’s a fantastic car. I had a CLS shooting brake in white, loved it, cool way to carry kids around. My wife got a lot of hate though and refuses to have another white family car. not sure why white elicits such feelings in some folks. Men and women.

I like a white transit

Its a shame its white (ducks)
And the steering wheel is on the wrong side
I wonder how its had such little use.

If you want one of these then this is more like it

They don't do anything for me in afraid (nothing personal CLS SB owners!).....just can't get my head around the lines of that rear end. Pity as the non SB 4 door CLS looks great. And of course, by dictionary definition, a shooting brake is a two/three door estate....so that's not one!

That's my old car. There was nothing wrong with it at all, but the colour scheme just didn't inspire me; my blue one looks sooo much better and classier....

Not quite; £97K without the EU VAT. Of course, you would have to add 20% UK VAT, and 10% import duty, to that, so about £125k in the end.

It's NLA now anyway, so somebody wanted it. I wonder how much they actually paid for it?

Yeah also not a fan. Too much going on. Looks like a cut and shut of 2 diff models

I rather like the CLS estate, but can't bring myself to call it a 'shooting brake'!
Funny you should mention the cut and shut idea, it certainly seems to have been done on previous models....

I think it is the most elegant estate car ever made. The aerofoil lines of the side windows being particularly successful. Horses for courses I guess…..
I mean its all good until you get to the rear quarter. The 3 lines converge and it looks a bit funky. The line of the rear arch doesn't seem to fit in very well.

As they say however beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's certainly not an ugly duckling just a bit of a miss match in my eyes. I do like estates / shooting brakes hence having one myself.

Generally i prefer the looks of an estate to the saloon however on the CLS the saloon to me is the better looking of the 2 which is a shame

The original CLS is one of the best-looking cars MB ever made. The SB tail has a touch of fat ass syndrome - a bit like a Panamera, but like one that's been on a diet - but in the right colour it looks pretty good. The chrome side window trim makes a huge difference.

Re CLS, you get different opinion every time you look at it ;).

It certainly won't tow a washing machine (or two) like it's E sibling... however, it is rare and it surprisingly gets lot of attention from onlookers and petrol heads. Great motorway cruiser though.
