Anyone Going to the General Meeting on 31/07/22 for the "other" Club ?

What is the topic of the meeting?

I don't want to breach any rules discussing details surrounding another club or anything, so all I'll say is "internal discord" , and trying to move on with a bit more harmony between the board and the members.

I was a member for years but grew tired of the general supercilious attitude towards non-members & web based forums/clubs which were, frankly, eating the officials club's lunch. The refusal of Ian not on my watch Kerrs to even consider opening their forum to non members was the deal breaker. Eventually I cancelled my direct debit after realising I could get everything I needed here or through Mr. Google without the Hyacinth Bucket atmosphere. Most odd for such an attitude to prevail when for 35 quid Fred West could have joined.

Yeah I get that totally. My biggest reason for being a paid member is just down to it being officially recognised by Mercedes-Benz.

It's a 5 minute drive for me but as I'm not a member of the other club I doubt I'll be welcome

Of course you will, at the bar with me for a drink, I'm staying there Saturday and maybe Sunday too.

Will see though if there is anywhere better close by for some food and a drink on the Saturday evening, maybe an Uber into town.

Just wondering if anyone will be at the General Meeting (Leicester Hilton) for the MBOC on 31/07/22 ?

Think I'm driving down on 30th, was going to fly to Birmingham but looks like bus replaces trains between Birmingham & Leicester so just going to drive.

Staying Saturday but thinking of staying Sunday too.

I've been trying to keep up with it all But to be completely honest there seems to be that many threads on the topic on the other forum I seem to be losing the battle

Think the biggest problem is the secrecy, changing to keep minutes of meetings a secret is one. Nothing should be a secret in any club.

It looks like a toxic place to be, even more Hyacinth Buckety than when I bailed. I found the atmosphere parochial & stifling back then & it seems it is much, much worse now. Frankly, who could be bothered with all that sh1t?

Someone should do a facebook post with info about this club/site for all those emigrating homeless ex-official club members looking for a home.

Looking at link on post 29, looks like the 2 events on the 31.07.22, are not the same club after all, which now makes sense.

I've added what I see, readily available info on Google, just information.

They don't vet applicants. The issue of Board accountability and competence isn't waffle. 640+ members called for an EGM for a vote of no confidence. The Board called their own meeting instead. Without informing members of the long list of legitimate, material concerns.
