Anyone got a F/L W202 C230K - Intercooler question ???

alright good peeps,

Ive got a prefacelift C230K which originally had the slatted front bumper (which let air pass through to the intercooler) and ive now fitted a facelift front bumper and the black centre grill plastic mesh thing is solid not allowing any air through to the intercooler ?? Is this correct or should the c230 have a different centre mesh that allows air to pass through (have not got a clue what model the facelift grill came from ???)

any ideas ??
