Anyone got a million and a half to spare?

I would not be surprised if MB themselves bought it back. There is probably 40% inheritance tax in there somewhere. Capital gains tax on the other hand doesn't apply (he rashly says without checking). I think vintage cars are classified as wasting assets (also race horses and vintage wine). Wasting assets do not attract capital gains tax!

Marvellous! It's amazing that cars like this are still being woken from their slumbers, especially in such good condition.

Funny how this should come to light the day after I found out that British Mercédès-Benz Ltd were based at 37 Davies St - the building was completed in 1928, so this would have been one of the first cars they sold.

Plus VAT and buyers premium too I expect
