Yes!

After years of good intentions I finally started learning the guitar back in February. It great fun but hard work.
I take lessons once a week but still progress is very slow, however the feeling when something clicks is great.

To inspire myself I bought one of the Marshall 1w amps and this piece of awesomeness:

Mayones Setius GTM6 Gothic

Well I guess I should join in too!

Here in the UK I've got:
Acoustic Fylde Custom Alchemist (built as a Gordon Giltrap Signature but with a thinner neck)
Acoustic Fylde Custom 12 string Falstaff
Ibanez RG470 for when I want to rock!

In the USA:
Takamine EG560SC Slimline electro-acoustic (fits in a Les Paul case!)
Ibanez SZ720 with Seymour Duncans

I'll try and take some piccies of the UK ones tonight.

Nice thread, here goes:
1957 Hofner Senator thin (compensator blonde)
1980 Fender Stratocaster custom (sunburst)
J200 Sunburst
Hummingbird Cherryburst
Warwick Stage 1 5 string
Lakland 55-01 5 string fretless (EQ added)
Washburn AB35 5 string Acoustic - love this bass..!

Yup, sitting around collecting dust, could never part with em.
Bass is my first weapon of choice, the others just came about over the years.

I have no particular interest in musical instruments as such but, as you say, variety is the spice of life and I may very well learn something interesting.

Also John, I always find your threads and contributions well thought out and thought provoking so yes, let us have more variety :)

Don't play the guitar any longer really (unless an opportunity comes along, same as a few year back getting together with a workmate;me playing bass and his wife the singer with another friend on 6 string) My favourite electric 6 string is probably the Telecaster. Also couldn't resist making an offer on an Echo 12 string a workmate mentioned he owned. Mine now.

Onset of arthritis means it's difficult to play chords, so I hardly play guitar now, but fortunately bass is still no problem.

Current lineup,

Hawk 12 string Jumbo, bought 1968, pickup added after a couple of years.

Yamaha jumbo acoustic,

Brand unknown Strat copy, short scale, fantastic action

Epiphone EB3 bass,

Fretless bass

Gone but not forgotten!

Strat plus or plus delux?? I've got a midnight blue strat plus (late 80's so one of the first run) and a "Blackie" Clapton signature strat!

Out of interest what Amps do you all prefer?

Marshall valve states, or Marshall cab with soldano head :)

I only play acoustic, so for me it's the Marshall ASR50. Plenty of oomph for anywhere I'm likely to be but a nice warm tone, not edgy, and I think it really suits acoustic playing.

They were all the rage a handful of years back - no doubt there's something with valves and an orange wrapper than can beat it these days though!

Just have a small Vox Valvtronic, but seems pretty good for what I want.

Here's my lad's others.

A PRS SE Santana and a Taylor 814CE that began life as a question on here.

The Taylor is simply fabulous:

N1 indicates 1991/2 USA made :thumb:

Mines an N9......so '89/90.......strat plus is the easiest strat to convert to a clapton strat of the same era (other than the softer "v" neck on the signature) both had gold lace sensors

Greg's is DZ - Deluxe 2009 - I think Deluxe replaced Plus as the up specced over standard model.

Piccies of my guitars here in the UK.

Ibanez RG470

I've had some biggish valve amps in the past but now I use an old Crate VC2110 class A 20w valve amp for Electric and a Laney A1 65w solid state acoustic amp for the Fyldes. The Fyldes are fitted with Headway pick-ups.

In the USA I use a Blackstar 5W amp, nice little thing!

I'll take piccies of my US guitars when I'm back out there in a month or so.
