No...but the AA tried to charge me £142 on renewal. After a discussion I said I was going elsewhere after 20 years, the reduced it to £92. I suggest you have a haggle with the AA.......
I'm just about to use the same tactic on RAC. Every time I renew (and I've never claimed), the premium goes up.
They told me that's because my cars are getting older. I pointed out the cover was for me, regardless of what car I'm in, so that shouldn't be relevant.
There's a massive thread over on MoneySavingExpert.com forum, mostly all positive! Unfortunately their forum is closed for maintenance till 9pm, I'll dig the link out for you, prob tomoz now
Not heard or used Auto Aid, but my experience of RAC. When I have used them during the year, then come renewal they want to charge extra. So I cancel, then take out new cover. Simple. And I get a better deal? Also get vouchers or something sometimes. Why pay more?
It seems that they insure you so you can pick whoever you want should you breakdown. So you breakdown, you ring say RAC or AA and pay for an instant membership and then claim from auto aid!
