I have just watched another episode of 'Comedians in cars getting coffee' (catchy title) on Netflix with Sinefeld. It's the precursor to Carpool Karaoke etc.

I will admit to not knowing many of the people he drives to get coffee with and Sinefeld himself can be a bit 'meh' but the cars are nice.

In one I watched this morning he drove a 1982 UK registered MB 300T manual diesel estate LHD ,green on green , a lovely looking car .

Just odd to see a LHD car in Beverly hills with UK plates . HBA 509Y

I’m sure that I read somewhere in one of my old fogey classic car mags that it’s illegal to drive a foreign plated car in America.

Some states only require plates in the back like Georgia. Texas only issues one plate for the back for cars with antique plates. In which case, you can stick whatever plate you like in the front. Most of the times , you'll see German plates on German cars, British plates or British cars. Italian plates in the scrap yard, etc

Jerry Seinfeld is a super star in the USA , most of the people he has in the cars during this show are just as well known, the show features many exotic cars on screen being driven on public highways sporting non USA tags. If you look closely on some episodes it would appear he has a police escort on at least some drives...except the one where he gets pulled over for speeding while driving a sublime Maserati Muria.

He is also reported as having a net worth of over $ 950 million....one law for them , one for us maybe ;)

Schmee150 of YouTube fame drove a UK plated Ferrari round the US under some kind of special temporary certificate that you can apply for. Didn’t stop him getting pulled over all the time by the cops bit his paperwork was all in order and he was allowed to continue.

My guess it will have BAOR origins

Yes and a rich Iranian guy drove his special Lambo on Dubai plates around the USA (and maybe Canada).
He then filmed his interactions with the various police that pulled him over and I believe that this caused a rule change that means people won’t be able to now repeat what he did!

Same thing with Jay Leno when he drives around in his Jay Leno's Garage show. One I watched a while ago where he was driving a seriously rare C2 Corvette you could see the Police SUV following behind, wherever he went! Interesting show though, with guests including Seinfeld (they get on very well!) and often guests who are experts in various makes and models.

At the end of the credits on Seinfelds show it states who the car belongs to/has been loaned from, so far from the shows I have watched only the Lambretta scooter belonged to him. Nice work if you can get it. I have no doubt he is a car guy.

That's the very car.
