Hi, I am trying to locate the top of the rear shocker on my 2001 E320CDi estate - is it this bolt in the attatched photo?
According to my book it should be a nut rather than a bolt! I don't want to undo it & something fall off!!

cheers
Chris

Thanks Olly.
I've finally managed to find the source of my bumping from the back - with the help of another thread - it's the rubber bushes at the top of the rear shocker.
I changed the top rubber (as it's easy to get at) and it got better but didn't go completely.
I then tried loosening the top bolt & driving & lo and behold it stopped!! :)
Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change the one under the body?
Is it just a matter of jacking the car up, removing the wheel & then the shocker will just drop down - or does it have to be compressed?

cheers
Chris

Thanks renault12ts - I've been hoping that site would be back up again.

Is it just a matter of jacking the car up to change the rubber bushes on the top of the shocker??

I think it is Chris. You could disconnect the shock from the actuator to allow it to compress. But someone more experienced may know differently.
