Anyone recommend any of these fuel/oil additive things?

Was thinking a about trying one of these aditive things you can buy where you pour one in the fuel tank and another in the oil to make the engine quieter and more efficient.

Anyone used one and any recomendations.

Petrol engine BTW!

Do not add any teflon type product to the oil. They all contain ground up teflon.
Ground bits aren't any good at all fot the bearings.

A fuel injector cleaner is a good idea along with synthetic oil.

I wouldn't use that additive, or any other - 99% are snake oil. Personally I use Auto Gearbox fluid for 500 miles or so in the engine oil before a change (about a litre of ATF) - it has very good detergent properties, and cleans out any sludge or varnish nicely. Also said to be very good for diesel fuel systems - again, around a litre to a full tank is said to work miracles when it comes to cleaning injectors etc. without harming anything else in the system.......
