Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

I have S55 PUR (SSSPUR) (SS SPUR)

Also T11 FCX (THFC X) with dot between the 11, which is my favourite.
Both on Retention.

Going to sell one of them, more than likely keep the S55 PUR, put it on my SL500.
It will then have a (Very weak) Mercedes connection :o

P.S. I have noticed people have (in the past) said, do not advertise your car with the number plate/state your number plate on Forums.
Is this true??
Morning Alfie :) It could be said the those with devious minds find the web a good place for cloning numbers

Is this the rule/advice??
I see the Spurs connection between both your user name and numbers.

Each to their own regarding registration numbers.

I saw A15 HIT on a Daewoo Espero a few years ago now.

It made me smile :-)

Not a lot really ..... there are plenty of other ways of cloning cars ...

Imagine you had a silver SL500 and you didn't want to pay the congestion charge ? You'd just have a walk around until you found another silver SL500 and make a note of the registration and have some plates made up. You wouldn't spend time trawling the internet forums looking for a suitable number would you ?

It's less of an issue for cars that are a little bit different , such as KLP 92's lovely SEC or my old CE for example .... no one has a white CE with grey wheels and an avantgarde grille  primarily because no one likes it but me ....:D

If any one has DJM , DAN, MAT NUMBER PLATE they would like to sell i would love to hear from you.

I saw BI6 DOG and FAT7Y on ebay..... thought they would have suited my car quite well lol

My brother has been holding ELY9 for longer than I can remember

If its longer than you can remember (assuming you can remember more than 24 months) then it probably isnt his any more (or he is telling you porkies!) you can only keep them on retention for 12 months, then extend for a further 12 (and you have to apply for that). Before the end of the 2nd 12 months you need to assign it to a vehicle.

Please forgive me if there has been a recent change but thats the facts as I know them.

No the rules changed quite a few years ago, you can keep plates perpetually on a retention certificate by paying the retention fee each year. DVLA is also supposed to be launching an on-line portal this year to allow you to do this online.
