Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

Presumably some of the dignataries making their way from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace for his evening's ceremonial dinner.

Oddly, Platewaver's website has a photo of MOL 10 on an Aston Martin in a supermarket car park. I wonder how it made its way onto what is presumably an official car?

And that DS420 must be one of the last-ever registered, given that they stopped making them in 1992.

On a side note, I have to say I love seeing the Special Escort Group leading cars through London traffic. There something quite exciting about hearing their whistles as they hold back the traffic at junctions to allow the cars they're escorting through; and it always seems to done so seamlessly.

Around twenty years ago I recall being brushed aside by a group of vehicles which contained three black Range Rovers containing very smartly dressed (but, don't f*ck with us) gentlemen.
The convoy travelled on the white line of lanes two and three of the M62.

Thinking about it though.....this was in a car park round the back of Costa Coffee. The franchise of which is listed as being owned by "Coffee Snobs". J 5NOB

Presumably C5 NOB had already gone...

If you ever see 1 SC, it belongs to the chain's co-founder, Sergio Costa. He and his family also own 123 SC, 10 MON and YO 3.

Quite possibly by the time I got to Hogarth roundabout another lot came by (in the other direction), it was a silver S-Class but I was in the inside lane by the time - so didn't notice number plate.

I do wonder what they do about the (usually heavy) traffic on the approach to Hammersmith Flyvoer until today, it appears they just stop the whole lot before the approach and let one line of traffic through, while the convoy slips through.

Also as I was on the Chiswick flyover, a lone SEG motorcyclist was coming the other way on blues, and earlier this afternoon in Knightsbridge one SEG motorcyclist was leading a group of 3 standard traffic motorcyclists. They seem to be about today!

Further info - how to tell a SEG motorcylist? They have SEG on their number plates, and ride (as far as I am aware) different bikes - BMW R1150RS, though it appears they've now got new Honda VFR1200.

SEG were out in Park Lane this evening as well.

At about 10pm, they were escorting an S Class (I think) and a Range Rover to the Dorchester (presumably having come from Buckingham Palace). About 10-15 minutes later, as I was approaching Marble Arch (on foot) I saw them pass by again heading the same way, so presumably they had just dropped someone off at (or picked someone up from) the hotel.

A couple spring to mind, that used to run around Reading

DR S1C...ie Dr Sic...on the back of a W123 estate owned by one of the local GP's :D

UFO 2 on the back of a Bentley

TUR1BO....on the back of a Porsche Turbo....last seen years ago.

R1 on a Clio of all things.....goodness knows how much that Reg would be worth. Used to be driven by an old girl.

How about that! I've got DR51 CKY on a Cert of Entitlement! Not got around to putting it on a car yet...

I saw COS7A on Mini. Couple of years ago in Camden.

There is a silver Range Rover near me in Kent with a plate that reads.....

S H I T T Y

It may well be. Not sure exactly what the correct lettering should be. I am amazed that the Police have not been all over it.

Me neighbour used to have DRUGY on his M3.
