couldnt find any reference to them on here, but just thought it may be of interest to any smokers on here.
I was smoking a 50g pouch of tobacco a week with no filters, i gave up with the aid of patches a few years back, then stupidly, whilst out drinking, thought id be ok to have one fag, needless to say i was hooked again. I kicked myself ever since, and read an article on electronic cigarettes, thought it was a gimmick but i was prepared to try. Anyway, i got one end of february and havent smoked tobacco since. They really do work.:thumb:

Bought one from IWOOT last year. £20 including a few refills.

Very convincing taste, and incredibly cheap compared to the real stuff.

they call them e cigs, its a rechargeable battery that heats a vaporizer that vapourises a liquid that has nicotine in it, so you get the feeling of smoking and a nicotine hit. this is the company i got mine from http://www.intellicig.com/?zenid=n4bh3sslc23vcb7s838d9l1ug6
like anything, these good ones and bad ones on the market.

I might buy one of these for my son. He only smokes about 10 a day - but thats still 10 too many.
Seems a good and logical alternative.
Apparently its not the nicotine that does most of the harm, its the 254 (a guess) other chemicals that do the real damage.

Managed to wean myself off cigarettes with ecigs last year, i lasted about 4 months tobacco free. I packed them in after experiencing some stomach and kidney pains. I was on the highest strength ejuice so was probably taking in about 4 or 5 times more nicotene than when smoking. The pains may have been due to the high levels of nicotene or an alergic reaction to the propylene glycol. Maybe some contaminant in the ejuice, they are completely unregulated, virtually untested and manufactured in god knows what sort of backstreet Chinese lab.

Either way, Im back on old fashioned smokes now and feel fine again. YMMV.
