As above.

I normally use a mobile AC specialist but as I’m not sure if my W212 has any leaks the Kwikfit promise where you don’t pay if the AC doesn’t work after seems attractive.

Any experiences?

Don't trust the Kwik fit leak testing.

In 99% of cases your ac will be colder straight after a re gas.

Good luck trying to get your money back if all the gas pi££es out the very next day.

Most kwikfit depots depend on the staff employed there. some are good, some mediocre and
unfortunately most of them are utterly useless

Might be worth contacting your local MB stealer they usually have a special price between £49 and £99 around this time of the year.
At least you will have the system sterilised.

Yeah MB Northants are doing it for £99. Hesitant to pay that when it’s £60 everywhere else though. :(

Do other places not sterilise the system?

I use a mobile guy who is very good, does the full service for £60 now. Used to be £30 last year! Apparently the price of the gas has jumped though!

Just hesitant to use him as I’d have to pay regardless even if it didn’t work, unlike Kwikfits promise... :)

Some years ago I had Kwikfit in Bexhill-on-Sea re-charge my aircon - They did it twice. It did not blow any colder, so they did not charge me a penny.

I've used kwikfit Rugby for aircon a few times on different cars. I wait until they have an offer. It's just hooking up a machine basically.

I’ve had a few cars regassed by Kwik-Fit, no issues at all.

Funny enough they didn’t charge me on two occasions - once was on my old S210 E320, as there was a sticky pin on one of the Schrader valves (it passed the leak test and took gas okay, but when they went to disconnect the machine it had a tiny hiss from the filling point). I drove around the corner - gave it a tap and the pin in the valve seated and that was that :D

Other time was on my old E430, it again it passed the vacuum/leak test, took a charge etc but didn’t blow cold as the climate control panel had locked out due to a stored code.

Code cleared off and away it went. They were true to their word, no colder - no charge :)

To be fair it’s not a complex job, and Kwik-Fit probably do more A/C services than anywhere else! :thumb:

Had the other half’s Yaris done at the local Kwik fit. No problems since.

Thanks all!

Try Autospares in Raunds, speak to Rob :)

Any idea how much he charges Ash? Had a look on his website and it says £24 which can’t be right surely?? :D

Tried calling but no answer, does he usually not answer the phones or maybe he’s closed today?

Maybe they use the gas recovered from the scrap vehicles that are recycled?

R134a is quite expensive nowadays.

Oh yeah maybe! I wonder if there is anything wrong with that? Surely refrigerant doesn’t degrade over time like oil does it?

If you can wait, ATS always have an offer via Groupon. I have used them a few times in the past and it normally comes to around £30 incl bacterial clean

Went to Kwikfit and they said they were busy till 2:30pm, on the way home saw a sign saying AC regas £49.95 outside a garage called ‘in n out’.... guess where I am now :D
