Has anyone ever used Silchester Garage for a service or bought a car from them?

I think you should at least visit them, won't cost you anything. It would surprise you.

Am I wrong to be suspicious of the number of one-posters who come on here and make strongly positive or strongly negative comments about a garage?!

Or that cartechs first and only post was a reply to a question I asked in June?!

:o

Swiss, I'm still looking for the Gazette with that article for you, haven't forgotten !

I've seen several "Silchester" cars and as a result am not in a position to recommend them.
Howard knows who to point you to when it comes to the older Mercs.

If companies are posting on-line and posing as an individual / consumer then they are breaking the law..

Someone very high-end auction-knowledgeable over at the owners club recently saw a pagoda go through that had a £50k restoration at said place pre-auction. It was better than new apparently, but not really original as it was shiny paint in the boot and elsewhere when it would have been "flat" from the factory, also the wrong seat materials and something else I cant remember.

Ummmm ...

Colin Ferns in Richmond does a fair bit of work with Pagodas if that is what you are after.

He's a good guy who knows his stuff.

No, I meant Howard, who guessed right!:bannana:

Its funny , i was talking to Colin about Pagodas a little while back , he was saying that some parts are hard to get hold of for a re-build .... one part in particular , some sort of under dash tray IIRC ...

Anyway , he has this Eastern European guy ( i think ) who works for him who just piped up with ' Oh , i can make them ' .... Colin then proceeded to give him the bit that needed copying and some sheet metal and the guy went off and made one !! Happy days !

No one had any idea before that this chap could do this ! ...

there is always someone somewhere!
