W211 E55 AMG
Hi All,

My W211 E55 AMG is due for a 'B' service now and I've finally decided to break with the full dealer history and go to a specialist from now on. After a simple search for Mercedes specialists in Surrey (I'm just south of Croydon) it seems I have a fair amount of choice with these companies local enough to me: TM Motors; Nick Georges; INAutos; QMotors; MercMedic; and DDR Surrey. I know reading this forum TM has had a recommendation or two already, has anyone else had experience with them or the others? DDR in paticular seem very reasonable as qouting £218 + VAT for a 'B' service but obviously cost isn't the only consideration. I know PCS is hugely recommended on here but I just don't want to travel that far.
Any info. much appreciated.
Thanks.

TM Motors are an excellent local MB specialist and very reasonably priced :thumb:

PCS are very highly recommended especially for the newer stuff and AMG models etc, could well be worth the relatively short trip, only about 45 minutes or so from where I am down the A3 - very quick now the Hindhead tunnel is open

Where abouts are you based?

Will

I'm based in Coulsdon Surrey, 10 mins south of Croydon. I have travelled fair distances to recommended garages in the past, some have been good and some not so good but sometimes if something is overlooked/ not quite right you end up having to travel a second time which is a real pain. Pessimistic I know, but I'd just prefer to stay local just in case and if there's a good specialist round here then all the better.

I used TM Motors a few years ago, they were very good.

There's:

James Leigh - Independent Mercedes-Benz Repair Specialists

Inautos are good though.

Two others for your consideration:
Klasse in Fulham or Colin Ferns in Richmond

I grew up in Coulsdon, my dear old Mum had a shop on the Chipstead Valley Road opposite the bottom of Rickman Hill.

TM Motors are 10 minutes from where i live and i have known Tony for over 20 years. Highly recommended.

Olly at PCS looks after my CL and is also Highly recommended,as Will said the drive down to Olly's is a very pleasant one.

Chipstead Valley Road certainly sees my car a fair amount. Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have a little ring round but TM seem well represented and not keen on the distance to PCS. It's just good to get some experiences from you guys rather than doing an internet search, going in blind and hoping for the best. If anyone has any other feedback please keep it coming. Thanks again.

Of the list OP posted I have only experience with one, Nick Georges (brockam garage) and that was not a good experience so I would not recommend them.
Mel.

Cheers nigel I googled them but couldn't find out

Thanks reflexboy I did all my own servicing on my SRT8 but to keep the stamps going :-(

TM Motors recommendation

Had a stuck roof and engine running problems with my 1998 SLK 230K.

Phoned SS Motors which is very close to me and was told by receptionist to phone back in 2 hours and ask for Carlo. I phoned back to be told Carlo was very busy for another 2 hours, was then fobbed off when I reminded her that I phoned at that time because she told me to!

Gave up and had sensible discussion with Anton at TM Motors, West Molesey. Took the car in, Anton gave me a lift to the station, kept me informed on progress, repaired the car for the price and timescale he agreed beforehand. Car now running beautifully and roof works for the first time in many years. Fair price charged for very good work.
