Anyone watching 5th gear?

clever car - dross program as usual

They are now catapulting chickens at a nissan ... whatever next !!

Love the new Smart models!

And I'm going to enter the competition to try and win the M5; although I expect the winner has already been selected and my entry will be pointless

Rendezvous was a Merc S class and not a Ferrari...Wow thats a turn up for the books

That's why I don't watch it;)
I was turned off the first time I watched this program and heard that giggling hyena of a she-male. Never watched it since. Censorship at the ground level. ;)

to avoid opening a vein on a monday night I do not watch this "oooh! isn't any car ever made good" Dross. They seem to find delight in any piece of tin cr4p pushed into the showrooms.

Yours the Avid avoider!

It's much better now Pam. "Rendezvous" was a 300SEL 6.9 I think we concluded some months ago.

Hello,

I watch it as I love the cars don't care about the people showing them, although now they have got rid of that idiot from the last series it IS much better.

Its the only car program on standard TV so I will continue to watch it.

Funny thing about the smarts being on as I know of two friend just bought the older model, they are great fun. I only ever drove an early LHD when they first came here and is was a hoot in town.

Catapulting the presenters? Especially that young moron who tested the C Class last week....all he says is he loves the car...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_450SEL_6.9

450SEL 6.9l, so it was an "S-Class", but a very special one.

I thought everyone knew this (everyone obsessed with too much time on their hands like me....ehhhhh) :).

There is a video of the making of Rendezvous, with the car and video pods strapped to the bonnet, etc., somewhere. I don't think it's on bittorrent though.

On topic: Fifth Gear do play second fiddle to Top Gear. I watched last weeks episode as I wanted to see the C-Class but the presenters are pretty poor. Tiff Needle (?) is okay, but they could have done a lot more with the W204 review - this is MBs first big move to try and make a new platform without the "poor build quality" baggage aimed at the small-mid-size sector.

Instead, they get some bloke to ooh and aah about the plastic finish, and talk nothing of the improvements, etc., over the W203 if any.

They (Fifth gear) also seem to be trying to do the "crazy adventures" stuff, but it just doesn't work with their presenters for whatever reason.

The reason is their presenters are rubbish.

The Brabus Rocket with Jason Plato was well done - even if a little controversial in these uber-PC times.

Low Budget!

Poor Quality Program After A Promising Start To The Series.:(
