Hi,

For those who have a w208 CLK 230k (or C230k), possibly facelift versions only.

I would be most grateful if you would; start your car from cold, select MPG "After Start" and let me know what the average reading is for the first minute or so.

If you could also make sure the car is in "S" gearbox setting please.

Think I might have an MPG issue.

Many thanks,
R

If anything like the 203 (the two models are very similar in many respects) it will show the average mpg since last reset then quickly start calculating the average since start, which will slowly going down until the engine warms and miles are covered. Just idling will result in the mpg figure reducing to zero over time

Mines a 430 but what I've started to do is start the engine, wait until the idle settles, reverse out of my garage and then reset the "after start" page. The MPG reads about 23MPG and during the course of my journey it settles down to between 18 and 20MPG.

Thanks guys. I'm aware of how it works, I just want to know what the readings are as I'm concerned mine is seriously low.

I'd like to find a general consensus of the MPG after starting and leaving it a minute or less of it being stationary.

Mine is on 10-13MPG at that point and I think it is generally eating fuel.

I thought would be an easy way to find out if it was, clearly not...

Sounds about right if you're starting it from cold. What does it read when your engine is warmed up?
