Could someone please confirm if a P/N 2028200926 comfort control module can replace P/N 1248203226.

My new to me 124 cab has thrown up a fault with one of the rear windows. On investigation I found a short in the wiring which goes away when I unplug the comfort module. P/N fitted is 1248203226.

My parts car has P/N 2028200926 fitted which also states 4FH+SHD (4 windows+ sunroof), can I use this? I'm a little reluctant to just plug it in and hope for the best (my usual approach to these things) as I don't want to fry any other components, especially those for the roof.

Some internet based research shows both numbers listed by most people trying to sell them, not sure that's conclusive though.

Any help appreciated.

Would need the complete vin to be sure.

Your A124 part number on fits to a relatively small range of the model whereas the 202 has a huge application.

PM me if you don't want it public.

Thanks, pm sent.

VIN makes things easier but since 2028200926 has replaced part number 1248203226 in one car, it must work as a replacement for 1248203226 on other models too.

This^. EPC also agrees with this. The 202 part number is suitable for your car.

edit. Which doesn't necessarily mean the relay is causing the short, just facilitating it.

Very true but all seems well upstream of the relay so I'm hopeful, will know more tomorrow.
I have at least managed to close the window again (it failed a couple of inches on the way down) by applying 12v direct onto the motor/regulator.

Thank you both for the help so far, something tells me I'll be back with more questions as I'm working my way through this car.
