We are going to bite the bullet and re-grout the flooring of our pool and I would love to hear the advice of anyone that has removed large quantities of grout.. Do Igo for the dremel, or do I go for the similar tool recomended on this thread?

It is a huge area and doing it by hand would take a life time :(

All advice would be greatly appreciated

From doing my shower....which I should imagine is some what smaller than your pool

I would go for cheap Ukrainian labour...

:)

Plus unless you have a snorkel you'll have to keep coming up for air - will double or triple the time at least! ;)
My wife intends tying me to a 56Ib weight but me thinks I will still float :)

You may find that your choice of grout will be limited to certain specialist grouts, due to the grout being immersed 24/7 in bromine**.

**Other swimming pool chemicals are available.

We like bromine but I am open to other suggestions..

Regarding the grout removal it looks like the Fein and so far this looks like the best location to buy it from.

I have 2 hot tubs at work... we like bromine too. While it means I can't use a "chlorine shock", we can drain and refill, it's only 2 cu m a time. The fact that bromine works over a wide pH range is one reason for our choice... but the main reason is that when we bought the first hot tub, the supplier gave us a 5kg bucket of bromine.

I guess that if he had given us chlorine, we would be using that instead!

I am confident about the quality of our water :)

All our water is passed by management. :D

You can still shock bromine water..

My wife 'shocks' the staff at the local pool shop when she usually asks for 5kg of bromide........ I think the staff take it in turns to serve her because she will always say something to embarrass herself :)

The good thing about bromine as opposed to chlorine is the lack of pong....

Our swimming pool room does not have that strong chlorine smell :)
