Anything to make the TV work again the W220 S-Class??

a few pointers for you
- your comand should play DVD
- you have AV ports on your TV tuner in the boot, OR under the rear screen.

I would connect a ps3 to the tv tuner then house it behind the arm rest so its easily accessable, you can use this as a dvd blue ray player too then.

A few people have said that this should play DVD's and it doesnt, surely i couldnt have done anything wrong by just inserting the DVD into the front slot above the screen?

Although i did find it strange that the Sat Nav on this was a DVD!!!!

I think my best bet is to wait till Friday and then start ripping things apart to see what extras i have, like AV ports etc etc. But on the other hand im one of them who wants something done for yesterday, hence why im doing all the research before hand!

NTG1 was introduced in MY04 in the W220 but maybe the car wasnt registered for a while as you have the older Comand 2.0 from what you have said above.

It is either Comand 2.0 which is cd based or Comand NTG1 which is dvd based and plays dvd. As you said the sat nav disc goes into the headunit, if that is correct it has to be Comand 2.0 as Comand NTG1 has a seperate navigation processor in the boot and the navigation dvd goes in the nav processor.

It is cd based, the navigation disc is on cd and it wont play dvd.

I had the same issue in my s600. no ipod and no tv.
I got fitted a number of things.

Ipod video mp3 player. This has to be the best piece of equipment upgrade you can buy. Download from youtube anything and watch it through the command unit and through the rear headrests and listen to the songs watch reruns of topgear or films or just play your favourite playlists.

cant quiet find my model one as maybe this only plays the mp3 mine plays the movies.

adpater so the screen doesnt go blank when driving as you cant see what to select to play.

Also i got a tv digital but be warned it only works really when your not moving. The sclass is a like a bank vault and the signal dies when moving.
i bought upgrades antena etc but the windscreens are reflective. Only way around was to mount antenna in roof so i decided against it.

All in all i got a professional company to do it and it cost me £1,000 for the full package, but it make a huge difference in entertainment in the var.
Av1 is ipod and av2 is the digital tv / dvd player in boot. You cant have both on at the same time.

Each to his own I suppose, but sorry £460 would be too much for me to integrate an iPod into the system, but as long as you are happy with it thats OK.
You cant watch TV in the front on the move, because its illegal, and dangerous, and people who do watch TV while they are driving should be classed the same as the morons who would rather hold a mobile phone up to their ear than go to Halfords and spend twenty quid on a handsfree kit, and therefore should be shot.
But the rear screen still shows TV when you are on the move, so if a passenger wants to watch it then they can sit in the back.
I just stuck a twenty quid antenna off E-Bay on the inside of the rear screen, the reception around here is crap but I can still watch most of the DVB channels in Tescos car park while the Women are shopping, although with hindsight I should have gone for a 12v boosted one.
Didnt know about the inputs near the rear screen, may be worth W4SIM taking a look.

Didnt know about the inputs near the rear screen, may be worth W4SIM taking a look.

Just got the car, had a look under the rear screen and yep, its got the 3 aux inputs (Red, Yellow, White).

So what can i do now?

Iv also seen this cable, will this work through the rear screen to play an ipod???
