Hi guys, wondering if i can pick some ones brain as I am running out of ideas of how to attack this problem.
I have just bought a 2003 E270cdi Classic that was fitted with Sat Nav upon purchase. The guy selling it said it needed a software update to the latest version for it to work again.
It pick s up 5-6 satellites and provides co-ordinates. However when you press the map button, the Sat nav still thinks it is in Oxford when the car is actually 150 miles from there. When setting a destination, it allows you to do that but confuses itself by starting from Oxford ?
Not sure if this is connected or not but when driving and the radio is on, every now and again the radio cuts out for a split second. I thought this could be a bad earth connection somewhere as it only happens when driving and not stationary ?
The Dvd player also reads some dvd's and not others ? I have turned on all regions in the Engineers menu, so not sure what is going on really.
I've had the unit out to see if there were any loose wires but the only connection to the back of the unit was secure. There appears to be an Orange fibre optical wire coiled up that doesn't appear to go anywhere ?
There is a DIN connection on the rear of the unit that has no connection to it and there is also what appears to be a small female connection that looks like it should connect to an arial, but again has no input feed from the car ?
Sorry to drone on, but Iam a complete newbie, any help on this matter would be very much appreciated
