Hi, I would like some advice on the best slip sleeves to store archival DVDs in,
Are the clear plastic sleeves any good-I think they should be pvc/chlorine free? What about the fabric lined sleeves (eg http://www.goldingproducts.com/shop/index.php?cat_id=8 -item 70136 (1/3 of the way down the page)?
Or would i be better with something like this ?
Anything else recommended?

Many thanks for all advice
Matt

Question... why would you archive using CD/DVDs? They have a very limited lifetime, from 3 to 10 years, depending on the media... and that's from manufacture date, not burn date...

Personally, I like hard-drives (2 in 2 separate locations... both dry and cool, and definetly NOT turned on)... replaced every 10 years or so...

but I am looking at solid state storage... seems like the way forwards...

personally I use a 400gb LTO2 for long term storage, but I have easy access to this sort of equipment. For your normal home cd archive I guess any of the 100cd type folders picked up for under £10 will suffice

My holiday films are epic!

Oh and I need to back up the gazillion photos of the grandchild.

I bet them discs only have a lifetime guarantee :)

I was under the impression that it is generally advised to have a back up of HDDs on an external HDD, and a 'physical' DVD+R back up as neither are foolproof.
Anyway, aside from the back-up issue, it may also be for giving DVDs to clients...
