Are there any good Mercedes-Benz after-sales/servicing centres/dealerships?

Hello. I hope to soon take delivery of a C350e saloon and have been researching after-sales/servicing centres/dealerships in the Greater London and surrounding area. The reviews are generally appalling - as is much of the feedback on this forum!

Are there any good Mercedes-Benz after-sales/servicing centres/dealerships in the UK and (for my purpose) in the Greater London and surrounding area?

Thank you!

If you want happiness, use PCS in Horndean. Olly (Blackc55) is a member on MBClub. LINK.

Mercedes Basingstoke and Guildford used to be really good under Tony Purslow which has since been sold as an on going concern to the Sandown Group. My last visits have been OK as most staff have been retained.

They are outside of London, but not a million miles away.

The only comparable place I can recommend is Merparts in Port Glasgow , but not exactly local to you .

Assuming your car is new or still under warranty, then I fully understand that you want to go to MB.

I still do for my new ML, although I am perfectly capable of doing the work myself. I just let them do the bare minimum and as soon as the warranty is up it will go to the Merc Specialists to keep the electronic service book up.

I would avoid Brentford and Epsom.
I actually use Brooklands at MB World, who are fine. Yes its expensive but thats the price of keeping a warranty and making a 3 year old car have FMBSH.

If your on a lease or PCP, check the small print - you might need MB dealer history.

A bit of stretch, but Waterhouse in Chelmsford Essex, have full MB authorisation as a service centre (but can't sell you a Mercedes, only a Volvo!).

I use Mercedes Guildford for servicing.

It appears Brentford isn't very good, so I avoid (even though it's the nearest dealer to me).

I used Brooklands twice for warranty work.

Brakes and MOT, are done at PCS.

I used to go to Beaconsfield with Hughes Merecedes Group, which I heard are quite good. But after a few warranty issues where I felt I was being fobbed off by telling me it has been solved but nothing was actually done , I found a much better after sales place in West London, Cowley called Mercedes Heathrow .

I pointed out the same issues to them and they confirmed the issues and dealt with it . They seem to be quite honest as well speaking to other customers whilst waiting there.

Mercedes Heathrow and Mercedes Orpington are service only outfits and are far superior to the normal all singing all dancing type dealerships with regards to warranty issues and servicing.

If you have the new C350e hybrid then you are pretty much stuck with the bona fide Mercedes dealers as I imagine they alone will have the necessary expertise [ in theory!] equipment to deal with these new powertrains for now. There will obviously be a degree of crossover on some equipment from more conventionally powered cars but not I suggest the hybrid setup itself . Expect teething problems as dealers and specialists get to grips with the new technology. Might be an idea in the course of conversation to ask how many hybrids they have on the books and talk to any of their workshop staff have been on the necessary training courses?:dk:

My neighbour, a Mercedes owner for a number of years, says MB in Stevenage are good and sings the praises of the service manager there. As a new owner of the brand I will be heading that way when my car needs attention.

I've tried 5 MB dealers - all VERY poor! Could not believe what they try to get away with! Thought I was unlucky at first but sadly it seems to be the norm with MB dealerships!! Avoid at all costs and find a good independent garage who have to rely on a good reputation for the success of their business rather than hide behind the manufacturers name!

To save the trouble of rehashing everything, there's a "Main Dealer Recommendations" thread here...
