Are these perhaps the ugliest wheels in Christendom?

I'd be less bothered about the road wheels than the extra steering wheel.

I love the G wagon, the way she glides on the custom wheels and the compliments I get from the rims is amazing.

They're special talking wheels !

In fairness, they're pretty special. They talk.

"and the compliments I get from the rims is amazing"

Weird. I obviously didn't plagiarise Howard's post so brazenly, it wasn't there when I posted two hours later. Spooky eh?

...perhaps it's the power of the talking wheels.

Don't be daft DM......have you never driven a train before? Thats the handbrake! :D:D:D

Only a few weeks ago I got a trip round a Type 37 loco, and yes the big wheel was the hand-brake.

The noise while next to the V12 English Electric was impressive. 1700 Bhp at 600rpm, iirc.

No mention of where the vehicle can be viewed , but wants 50% payment up front. Would be very cautious here. Would not be the first ebay seller to pose as being on active duty and not contactable . Almost got caught on an escrow scam by somebody purporting to be on active service , but got suspicious when the SL that i "won" could not be viewed.

In the UK yes, It's illegal to have the outer edge of the wheel stick out further than the wheel arch. In his desription though he does say he has (or had) a body kit which included arch extensions. You can even see them in one or two of the photos, they look crap and the wheels look like old range rover wheels!

He said:

"This custom Rare G was imported from the UK and cleared customs with all paper work and history. As for now it is Germany registered, insured and passed inspection"

So, I assume it's in Germany.

But the item is stated as being located in "APO, AE, APO/FPO" wherever that is!

APO = Army Post Office, FPO = Field Post Office. On the face of it, the seller is a US serviceman, previously stationed in the UK, now stationed in Germany, and in Afghanistan at the moment.

Yes, those ARE the ugliest wheels in Christendom. But they speak....

Lets hope it stays in germany......

Now you are on my topic, everyone goes on about steam trains but the engineering on some of the diesels is just as, if not more impressive than steam. Another favourite of mine is the Deltic, what an engine that is those Class 55's on the ECML were awesome and the preserved ones still pay tribute to that fantastic engineering. I used to frequent Doncaster works in my yoof what a place.

Ive seen loads of vw lupos with the wide rims and that never get pulled ..???

What a weird ad. His English is poor (almost Nigerian English), he is offering 6 months finance and for some reason he won't post it on German eBay (where the car is). And he wants to offer a special deal to the person who can bring his NEW vehicle from UK. What's the obsession with RHD cars for an American living in Germany???????

I'm by no means a cynic but..........

A deltic coming out of gasworks tunnel north of kings cross is a sight and sound to behold, almost as smokey as a steam train. Did a visit as a kid to Stratford works and got deafened by walking through the engine compartment of a hst125. Still prefer steam to diesel but the early diesels were much more characterful than they are now.
