Went to Argos to get a Sony NU-52C Satnav today at £149.99 (needed something in a hurry for use with a rental). The till operator warned that the product might be substituted with something equivalent.
What they actually supplied was the NU-82G which is widescreen and can be upgraded with a new cradle for TMC. This lists at 249.99.
So anybody thinking of a Sony NU-82 might try buying an NU-52 and see if they're still substituting and get it a lot cheaper. (The product is non-returnable if you actually accept it but you can reject it at the counter).
My guess is Sony have a delay on the NU-52 and are supplying Argos with NU-82 instead.
It might also be worth asking if the NU-72T is being substituted (in which case the 'equivalent' might logically be the NU-92T).
