Hi,
I have used a recently aquired hand held scanner (Foxwell NT600) to check for any stored codes on my 2002, ML 270CDI, it is pre-programmed with many different vehicle makes, etc which includes my specific ML model.
During my 'play' with it i came across a 'reset oil' function which i selected but after a few seconds i got the message 'failed communication' but then i noticed that it has actually reset my assyst to 0 days and 2 spanners......this setting now counts down minus 1 day, minus 2 days, etc, etc as the days go by.........if i perform a manual reset (as i have always previously done) it correctly resets to 13000 for a few seconds but then switches back to 0 days and 2 spanners instead of remaining at 13000 miles as it always did previously prior to connecting the scanner.
I assume the assyst has been corrupted in some way by the scanner and would like to know if there is a way to restore it without needing to use star?
Regards.
