2019 VW Passat GT estate. SLK- now gone 2010 Hyundai I 10.
I see that M.B is to up it's share ofAston Martin from 5% to 20%. How long before a complete take over?

I think it’s only a matter of time they go for control; I’m just amazed it’s taken them so long...

The company is in a dire situation. Glad MB have stepped in to prop it up

It's a well known fact that the new DBX SUV will make or break the marque. Sad times.

I don’t understand Astons failure.

They’ve got heritage, looks and speed. I cycled past their Park Lane showroom this morning and the line up of cars are stunning. Except for the DBX.

Could this be a reason why Mercedes MIGHT take them over. MB are talking about trying to go for the luxury look and would it be a thought that they could use the showrooms of Aston Martin and move into them with their high end vehicles?

God knows why. Could be another Chrysler mess :(

If Mercedes and Stroll do end up owning 40% of AML between them, there really shouldn’t be any shortage of funds going forward. Of course which direction they take the company is anyone’s guess.

MB is not putting in any cash.

MB is getting shares in exchange for providing tech, especially electric drivetrain tech - on “commercial terms“ - to Aston

I don’t see MB taking over AM any time soon.

A commercial deal to provide engines and drivetrain isn't really the same as a desire to own a business which trades on "Goldfinger" to sell cumbersome, badly made and hard to maintain vehicles consistently at a loss..

Has anyone mentioned that Toto Wolfe has bought into Aston Martin to the sum of $37million and I think he is also talking to Sebastian Vettel to invest. Toto is no man's fool and would he put that much money into a sinking ship?

I suppose it depends how much 37 million is to him ? It may be 1% of his money . Like me buying £100 of shares ;)
