Aston Martin design a bus!

Aston Martin have just jointly won a competition to design a new RouteMaster bus for London. http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-story.jsp?news_id=18519

Should be pretty sleek for commuters - pity they will always be in the workshop being sorted.

They cannot be that bad, 75% of all Aston Martins ever built are still on the road.

They've hardly pushed the envelope, have they.? It's like a childs cartoon routemaster.

And as for this..

London mayor Boris Johnson said: 'We have had a phenomenal response, with ideas submitted from around the globe, and we now have, in our joint winners, two stunning designs that allow us to go forward and produce a truly iconic bus fit for 21st century London.'

TfL will now start a tendering process and select a bus-builder who will use the designs to develop the new Routemaster. The bus could be in service by 2011.

2011. Has he been smoking something or does he just not have any concept of mechanical design and testing.?
