Weird situation arising with regards to service booked for this month

Ml63 2015 which is booked as per MB website for an A service with plugs and brake fluid change

Car is saying needs B5 service

Rung dealer they say had a B service in Mar 2017 at 2 years old then another B in Sept 2018 only oil and filters were changed

As far as they are concerned it now only needs an A service and is just out of sync but they also said it doesn't need an ATF change even though now over 4 years old and one has never been done

Can anyone advise as all seems a bit odd to me?

You can check the service schedule here:
Mercedes-Benz UK | Electronic Service Sheet

It goes by mode model not VIN, so will not reflect your specific car.

You can also check here:
Mercedes-Benz Online Service Booking Application

To see what has been done to your specific car, you'll need to register it with Mercedes Me, then ask the dealer to print-out the last Digital Service Record which will have a SecCode that you can use in order to access you car's online Digital Service Book.

On a general note (not specific to AMG cars), some models have 3y, 4y, or 5y ATF change specified, and some none ('sealed for life').

Any idea whereabouts on Mercedes me to find the service record? I have registered and have a seccode but can't find where to put it on Mercedes me?

An oil change in september 18 is not, i venture, a “B” service....

On the homepage go onto the Digital Service picture box and it will ask for the code

Exactly my thought!! Troubleis I don't know what should have been done then either!

Did the ML have any service between Mar 2017 and Sept 2018 ? As above, an A service should have followed the March B service
A B5 service should include Plugs, Air filter and a brake fluid change according to the list posted by Olly at PCS, a well recognised indy.

Check what should have been done from the list below in Post #1. I would get a printed copy of the DSR from the dealer to confirm what has already been done.
Servicing list - What each number/letter means

No it didn't have a service between March 17 and Sept 18 hence the weird double B service according to the dealer

As you note plugs and brake fluid are due to be done even though it is shown as an A service

The link does suggest ATF is year 5 though but as it is 5 in March and next service would be Sept 2020 should I still push for the change now?

I would, as by Sept '20 the ATF change is 6 months overdue. Dealers are keen to get brake components changed before time, so ATF is no different.;)
If you are on a service plan you may have to push them to do it though.

Have a look at my thread on servicing. I posted it a while back so you may have to do a search. It is to be used as a guide only and always worth checking history to see exactly what its had and when :)

Looking at the ESS and the B service I’m due this year, I see that an oil and filter change is stated under Additional Items. Surely oil and filter is a pre-requisite of any service. Why then is it under additional items ?

What a surprise they are refusing saying its not due until next year even though it will be 6-7 months 'overdue' by the time of the next service

I've asked to discuss with the Service Manager but doubt he will agree as he is the one who has said it doesn't need to be done

SM rang back confirmed won't be done as MB will not allow them to do work not specified when payment made under service plan

No idea if true or not but all MB dealers within a 40 mile radius of me are the same group so no chance they will take a different view

I would ask the Service Manager why they advise customers with brake components not yet worn out to have them replaced "because they will need to be done before the next service"

I see no difference if the ATF should be changed before that service. Also, do they recommend the ATF change being 6 months overdue and will it be done in the Sept 2020 service?

And get it in writing if possible:D

Edit.......our posts crossed.
