    Hi all,
I am giving very serious thought to getting an ATF cooler fitted and the Valeo Radiator ATF cooler disconnected.

I know this has been done but I dont know by who..
So If you have had this precautionary mod done can you tell me where you had it done, How much it cost and are you happy with the results..

I have decided I will be keeping this car for quite a while and I am NOT prepared to live on hope and a prayer that I escape Glycol contamination..

I am thinking that if the radiator coolant has absolutely no way of seeping into the ATF then thats definitely a good thing to do..

    Thanks in advance..

If worried, just have a new rad fitted.

The fault is a manufacturing fault on the original batch of radiators, not a generic fault. It's just the sealant around the banjo-bolt washers isn't done well enough.

    Thanks Dieselman..
Can we be totally sure that the newest batch of Valeo radiators are definitely 100% leak proof ?
Mine is a mid 2005 but i have heard tales of later ones than that going wrong..

Yes I agree with BlackC55. But I have seen on MBworld, odd Valeo's have slipped through the net. So I think in all these cases of g/box problems,The first thing to do is establish, which rad. you have. Certainly on w211's up to 2004.

Yes, I've heard they are good. When I have established the make of my rad. I will make them a visit. But have fingers crossed, I won't have to.
