My mate (who is not a car person) has a 2017 A1 S-Line, he never cleans it and told me last week that a large scratch has appeared on the rear bumper.

I asked him if he could feel any ridges in the paint when he moves his finger nails over it, for which he said no. So I volunteered to remove the scratch and give it a wash.

The scratch:

As you can also see, it runs along the length of the bodywork and also the grey rear diffuser:

The car also urgently needed a wash as it was really dirty and hadnt been washed in what looks like at least a year:

Id also noticed that his exhaust tips had seen better days:

So I gave it a go with my DA machine and a cutting pad. As it was 'only' Sliver bumper paint it all came off after about 10mins work:

Onto the tips, with some Autosol:

Finished job. I didnt have time to give the rest of the car a polish/wax so only managed a to give it a wash, which certainly did the trick:

Good Job. Looks a lot better.

The Autosol seems to do a decent job.

Nice job on the wee Audi 👍 Nice to have good friends.

I think your mate is smarter than you think... probably put that scuff in the bumper himself to kick start things too :D
