Car
porsche cayenne turbo
any one had any experience of the c6 audi rs6 v10 twin turbo, looking to change again 2nd quarter next year.

Would be the estate version as its the only way my better half would let me change the car again...

Thanks

steve

Yes only a shortish drive in a mate's. Hugely fast in a straight line. Bit wallowy through the corners. The inside is a nice place to be.

Best thing about it IMO, the little badge on the wing that says "V10."

I like them, it'd be a good way to get the kids to cubs/rugby/karate etc etc at a decent turn of pace :D

Thanks, i know with a basic map (MRC stage 2) and filter change, they are good for 700-720 bhp, it weighs less than my current cayenne and is cheaper to insure. though road tax is in the post 2006 bracket.

A very good friend of mine owned one for about nine months and I drove it on a few occasions.

Deceptively quick, numb steering, and single figure mpg are how I remember it.

He sold it because it was just too clinical, there wasn't enough (any?) drama from it which is what he expected out of a car like that.

minimal but i was seduced by the bhp and the grunt and did have one on my shopping list 12 months ago. What are you really after? I did test drive and consider but opted out once I drove it as it didn't really match up to my needs at the time.

well its 300kgs lighter than my cayenne, lower, 4wd, big boot, the cayenne is not a driving hoot, but is very capable, after something understated but very quick.

Hi Sheepy67. I currently own one. Fantastic car I really cannot fault it. It has been totally reliable & great fun - not much get keep up with or get past it. The quattro setup means you can plant your right foot without any drama. There is a lot of press that it is a very hard ride - in my opinion it is perfectly acceptable. It is never goes to be the ride of an S class - it just isn't that sort of car. It enjoys petrol however, never seen over 18-19 mpg average on any type of run - current average over 5-6K miles is 14mpg. It has all the toys pretty much as standard, mine has a few extra options.

funny enough, i get 14-15 mpg out of my cayenne, its would be cheaper to insure as well which surprised me. thanks for the info. and i havent had any more than 20 on a motorwa cruise

A remapped RS6 is an absolute missile, it will be noticeably faster than your Cayenne Turbo which again is very fast, especially for a big 4x4, they are meant to drink petrol though, but then you're used to that:p.

Interesting thread that may be worth following. The RS6 is a car that I will seriously consider in a years time (think there is another £5k depreciation coming). I am currently on the lookout for a Cayenne Turbo so we'll see how it all pans out....

Sheepy, good choice of cars...

Jules

i agree with you on the depreciation, the c7 version, with the v8 is out soon if not now, that will feed down in the next few months and into next year
Ive seen a few for avg 28 -30K, so expect around 24-25k for a decent one next year

Is the standard S6 V10 not quick enough for you?
well it is pretty quick, but how much is to much?

The S6 Avant is a great sleeper. Oodles of power and torque at any speed but settles down and is good for a long cruise. I've not driven a RS6 (C6) but imagine it to be a lot more shouty and responsive!

Have you considered an S8? Prices are falling quite fast lately :P Same V10 lump, big saloon, luxury, large presence and a huuuuge boot. The air suspension is sublime when in comfort mode and you'll be surprised what such a big car is capable of (when the other half isn't sitting next to you!)

If you are going to do it, you might as well do it.

In reality, I question how much cheaper an S6 is over an RS6 to run, for example.

And yet all that extra oomph - which is why you buy an S6 or RS6 isn't it...

Personally Sheepy, it'd be nice you see you back in an AMG again!!

Enough of this Porche/ Audi talk already!
