I've just bought an Audio 10 CD player (single shot) to replace the useless cassette model in my W210, have ordered a couple of release keys from ebay too.

I'm expecting/hoping it should be a simple 5 minute swap job...
Anyone know if thre are any pitfalls or anything I should watch for?

Thanks
Ian.

should fit straight in, i put an audio 10 CD in my S202 to replace the naff sony thing it had.

all the connections should be there unless the Cassette is a non iso standard wiring set up.

I hope you're right!

I've ordered it from Dronsfields (not always heard glowing reports about them), as I negotiated a better price from them than they seem to be going for on Ebay (one going for very silly money here: MERCEDES-BENZ AUDIO 10 CD/RADIO on eBay (end time 02-Sep-09 22:02:55 BST) ).
They said I should have it by Monday, so assuming my ebay sourced removal keys have arrived by then I'll swap it then & report back.

Unfortunately depending on version it does not play write CDs. Mine I got brand new from germany with the latest software and was struggling to navigate through tracks, ok to play them in a row once it gets going.

Removed after a couple of months and put a becker. Still got it though.

That's a bit of a bugger, I've always had copied CDs in the car & left the originals safe at home. Still, not the end of the world!

Had similar problems playing copied CDs, you may have to try a different brand, this worked for me. I found that infiniti? and verbatim were ok. Hope this helps.

:(Should I be surprised?
DRONSFIELDS  took my money last week & said my Audio 10 CD headunit would be with me my Monday. By late afternoon today (Monday) I gave them a call to ask if they had a Parcelforce or DHL tracking number so I could make sure I wasn't waiting in for nothing.......
Would you believe that nothing had been dispatched & they didn't have one in stock either? I am livid:mad:! At the, absolute, very least a call to let me know would have been in order.
They've promised a refund to my card..... judging by their performance so far I am anticipating several calls before it happens.
Anyone here have one for sale??

Right, swapped my old casette unit with a CD unit from ebay. Radio works, CD works but (Aaaaaargh!) Steering wheel controls and dash display don't.
Help! Any ideas?:wallbash:
