Audio 20 Query

Hi All, my 2013 C220 W204 has an Audio 20 fitted but I don't know if it requires a code if the battery is disconnected. I have looked in the Audio 20 manual that came with the car but there is no mention of a code. Could anyone tell me if it requires a code if the battery is disconnected please. Many thanks, Paul

It shouldnt do, I have disconnected loads from various ages without needing a code.

The way it works is that there's an anti theft feature wich 'locks' the unit to your VIN, so you only need the unlocking PIN code if moving the unit to another car (which will obviously have a different VIN). But as long as the unit remains in the same car, no PIN code is required, I.e. even if the battery is disconnected, or in the event that the unit is removed and refitted in the same vehicle.
