Audio 50 - Speed Camera POI's?

I am close to changing from a VW Polo to an A Class A180 Avantgarde.

I'm currently hesitating on whether or not to include an Audio 50 on my factory order. While I currently use a Garmin unit, I like the notion of the GPS being built into the car (despite the much higher price compared to a third-party unit).

Even so, my local Mercedes dealer suggested that it was possible to add speed camera locations to the Audio 50 via a third-party website. I have previously used the Pocket GPS website for such information for my Garmin unit, but I can't find any reference there for the Mercedes unit.

My local Mercedes dealer wasn't able to divulge the source of the required information for the Audio 50. Does anyone have any relevant information on such a speed camera poi database suitable for the Audio 50?

One of the mods on pocket gps has a Mercedes, why not post the question on that site, they might have more info.

I'm sure I've read it is theoretically possible but have not heard of anyone who has done it.

I've seen this done (a hack) on a BMW but I understood it would not be a simple for the MB navi discs as the data is not in plane text format.

That's the site, I use their speed camera database on my TomTom, much better and updated more frequently than TomToms own.

Initially you need to pay a fee, but if you report a new camera before anyone else, you get a lifetime membership, I was successful a few months ago.

It is not possible on the current mercedes nav unit to import POI's, this may come with the HD model in years to come

The pocketgps web site supports the poi's for bmw/mini/range rover and rolls. but no other manuafacturer.

I would like this feature to be able to add POI from a DVD in the drive in the head unit.

I personally use a snooper sapphire dash mount unit that uses a gps database.
